Why do we exist?
Well, that is a long story, but it starts with our desire to bring transparency to olive oil. The food industry found a way to trick us by selling processed ‘lamp oil', while calling it ‘olive oil’. Even the olive oils that are labeled as extra virgin often do not deserve that label and do no contain the compounds that make real extra virgin olive oil extremely healthy. Unfortunately, the food industry gets away with this, because most people do not know how to recognise extra virgin olive oil.
Hi, I am Hedzer, a Certified Olive Oil Sommelier (O.O.T.) and Founder of the Olive Oil Club. My goal is to help you taste the difference and enjoy the health benefits of true extra virgin olive oil. As a Dutch native—coming from a country without olive trees and with no family ties to any olive farm—I bring a completely unbiased perspective. This allows me to seek out only the best olive oils, no matter where they come from. My dream is to inspire more people to appreciate real extra virgin olive oil, not just as a kitchen staple but as a daily ritual for health and enjoyment. By joining the Olive Oil Club, you become part of a community that values quality, integrity and health of food —while rewarding the farmers who are dedicating their lives to making a truly unique health product.
